'Godzilla' Phoenixville Mural Nears Completion

Things are looking good on Bridge Street.

The famous - perhaps infamous - mural on the side of the new Phoenix Village Apartments on Bridge Street is nearing completion.

Derided, or launched into fame, by a councilman who said the design looked like “Godzilla,” the image of the phoenix rising from the cogs of industry into a blue sky appears to be about three fourths of the way done.

Finishing touches continue to be added on to the Bridge Street side of the Village Apartments, and part of the sidewalk is closed. Residents, however, have begun to move into the new luxury condos.

The mural, when complete, will be the largest in the borough.
