Harpoon Louie's Crab Deck Opens Friday

The Phoenixville seafood restaurant is under new ownership.

It was all hands on deck—literally—on Wednesday afternoon as the Harpoon Louie’s crew worked to get the restaurant’s deck in ship shape.

The Crab Deck opens Fri., July 8, with a grand opening celebration starting at 4 p.m. A new owner, Frank Satiro, took the helm two months ago. Rumors that the restaurant closed were false, and now Satiro and his staff hope to lure patrons back with 15 new pasta dishes, lower prices and the spacious deck.

“We can almost have it open year-round,” said Jessica Irvine, deck manager.

The covered deck is equipped with a full bar, heating lamps and plastic walls that can be raised or lowered depending on the weather.

Harpoon Louie’s invited musicians in to play on the deck, and DJ BLuE will be out on the deck starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, Teacher’s Pet will perform starting at 7:30 p.m.

Satiro officially took over the restaurant three weeks ago. He used to deliver pizzas to Harpoon Louie’s and knows the former owner.

“When I saw the inside and I saw the deck, I fell in love with it,” Satiro said.

From Spring City, Satiro likes that the restaurant is in the heart of the suburbs but also a bit hidden. He also made a point to scale down the prices at the restaurant, which still features the signature Oyster Pie.

“We have readjusted our pricing,” Satiro said. “We’re a lot more affordable.”

Irvine said while the restaurant never actually closed, some customers are surprised to find that it’s still around. She encouraged people to come in and check out the deck and the changes at Harpoon Louie’s.

“I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised,” she said.

Deck Info: The deck will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to midnight or later.  On Sundays, the deck will be open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Restaurant Hours: Wed. – Sat.., 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Sun., 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Specials: Half-price appetizers for Happy Hour from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.; $2 Coors Light drafts for the deck grand opening Friday during Happy Hour.
