PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Interested in ways to give back to the community? Learn about philanthropy and volunteerism in the Phoenixville area from a local expert.

The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area will host a special presentation on philanthropy and local volunteerism during First Friday festivities on June 1.

Louis Beccaria, the president and CEO of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation and an important voice in local philanthropy, will be the guest speaker.

According to organizers, he will "discuss and draw from his experiences in working with charitable and non-profit organizations and will share anecdotes from his book, "'My Journey in Philanthropy.'"

The event is free and open to the public. Members of the public can also view the historical society's current exhibit, "The Greater Good: A History of Community Organizations Giving Back in Phoenixville."
