ICYMI: Phoenixville Says Goodbye To Longtime Deputy Fire Chief

Memorial services were held this week to honor the fire veteran who dedicated his life to service of Phoenixville.

Memorial services were held this week to honor the Phoenixville’s late Deputy Fire Chief, Brian Gallagher, who dedicated his life to service.

He passed away on August 28 at the age of 59.

Hundreds attended his funeral services and burial at St. Ann’s Chapel and St. Ann’s Cemetery, including current Phoenixville and Kimberton firefighters.

Gallagher has been a member of the Phoenix Hose, Hook & Ladder Co., No. 1 since 1976 and the Kimberton Fire Company since 1972, the department said.

He was also formerly the president of Northern Chester County Fire Chief’s Association and past Pennsylvania Fire Academy Instructor.

Gallagher retired from the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office in 2007, after serving the Chester County Department of Emergency Services for over 30 years.
