Kickoff to Fire Prevention Week During the October First Friday in Phoenixville

The Fire Department will occupy the parking lot at Main & Bridge Streets from 6 to 9 PM on October 7th during First Friday.

The Phoenixville Fire Department is hosting an annual Kickoff to Fire Prevention Week. This Event will be held during the October "First Friday" in Downtown Phoenixville. The Fire Department will occupy the closed section of Main Street between Bridge and Church Streets as well as the adjacent municipal parking lot from 6 to 9 PM on October 7th.

In conjunction with the National Fire Protection Association, the theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week is "Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years." In support of this mission the Phoenixville Fire Department will continue to promote our Smoke Alarm Giveaway program. The Department offers to visit residents of Phoenixville Borough to test and install new batteries in existing smoke alarms. If smoke alarms are missing or outdated, the Department will install a new smoke alarm in the apartment or each level of a house. Residents may sign-up for the program during the October First Friday or by calling the Department's Administrative phone number (610) 933-9717. We will also have a special LEGOLAND Firefighter poster for children to hang up in their room, so they can remind parents to test smoke alarms each month.

We are hopeful Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear will visit this event to meet and greet children and parents alike.

The night will also offer you the opportunity to meet your local Firefighters, look at the equipment we use, sit inside your Phoenixville fire trucks and plenty of photo opportunities for your family.
