LGBT Nonprofit To Open Headquarters In Phoenixville

LGBT Equality Alliance grew from a social scene at a now-closed gay bar in Phoenixville. They ran the Chester County Pride Festival in June.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration will be held Thursday night in Phoenixville for the LGBT Equality Alliance.

The nonprofit is opening up its new office 200 Lincoln Avenue in Suite 104.

The Equality Alliance is the organization behind the first annual Chester County Pride Festival which took place in Phoenixville earlier this year.

The organization existed mainly as a social scene at a local gay bar, Frank Jeffrey's, from 2001 to 2009.

The group continued to meet for "tea dances" after the bar was closed and the nonprofit LGBT Equality Alliance was born from those meetings in 2015.
