Lifelong Phoenixville Man Passes Away At Age 50

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Matthew Joseph Grier, Sr., age 50, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017. Born on February 22, 1967 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of Robert Grier of Oregon and Victoria (Lattanze) Cox, wife of Otis of Phoenixville.

Mr. Grier was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. He worked as a carpenter supervisor, most recently renovating houses in Trenton, NJ, where he was always willing to teach and help others. He enjoyed to play the guitar and loved music. He was a fan of football and baseball, and collected baseball cards. A man of many talents, he enjoyed cars, and in his younger days, he and his son Matt restored his Ford Mustang. He enjoyed talking to his grandchildren on the phone at night before bedtime.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Grier is survived by three children, Matthew Joseph Miller, fiance of Melanie Marie Patrick of Phoenixville, Summer Lee Grier and Victoria Sky Grier of Pottsgrove; was Grandpa to three grandchildren, Madison, Makenzy, and Michael Miller; and one step-sister, Nova Grier of California.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Charles R. O'Hara. Burial will be held privately.
