Longtime Phoenixville Native, U.S. Navy Veteran, Passes Away At 85
Lou served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and worked for General Electric for over 41 years before retiring in 1993.

Louis H. Breden, age 85, beloved husband of Celia M. (Weygand) Breden, of Phoenixville, PA, died Friday, October 14, 2016 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on June 16, 1931 in Islip, NY, he was a son of the late Louis and Marie (Wholtman) Breden. Lou spent his youth working on his family farm in Lookout, PA. He was a graduate of the Hancock High School, New York and an alumnus of The State University of New York, Delhi. Lou served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and worked for General Electric for over 41 years before retiring in 1993. During his retirement years, he gave freely of his time to Habitat for Humanity and Kiwanis Club, in addition to enjoying many warm winters in Pharr, TX. Lou was a devoted and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Breden is survived by two sons, Wayne L., husband of Cathy Breden of Phoenixville, PA; Mark H., husband of Ravina Breden of Elverson, PA; daughter, Lois E. Breden of Chattanooga, TN; Six Grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Ralph, husband of Beulah Breden of NY; and Sister, Ann Von Olsen of NY.

Relatives and friends will be received from 9:15 am - 10:15 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, 145 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. The memorial service will immediately follow at 10:30 am. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, Stained Glass Fund, at the above address.
