Longtime Phoenixville Nurse, Beloved Neighbor, Passes Away At 95

PHOENIXVILLE, PA - LOUISE J. WOOD, 94, OF KIMBERTON Louise J. (Pollock) Wood, 94, of Kimberton, PA, wife of the late Francis B. Wood, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Lancashire Nursing Home in Lancaster, PA. Born in Williams Corner, PA, she was the daughter of the late G. Emerson and Ethel (Jayne) Pollock. Louise was baptized by Pastor Carmichael of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Phoenixville in 1922. She was confirmed in Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church on October 29, 1944. She was a member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Phoenixville for her entire life. Louise graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1940. In 1943, she graduated from the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Phoenixville Hospital RN society for many years. Louise married her high school sweetheart in Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church on August 13, 1944 by Rev. Lanagan. They had three children, son, David F. Wood of Imperial, PA, son, Thomas E. Wood of Sherrills Ford, NC, son, Mark M. Wood of Lancaster, PA; three grandchildren, Matthew M. Wood, Christopher M. Wood, Debra L. Wood, and two great-granddaughters, Carleigh and Anna. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. James E. Evans will be officiating. Burial will be private in Green Tree Cemetery, Oaks, PA.
