Longtime Phoenixville And Royersford Resident Dies At 103

Helen W. Vaughan, aged 103, passed away last week. The longtime local volunteer and resident was born in 1913.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Helen W. Vaughan, age 103, wife of the late Elmer E. Vaughan, of Royersford, PA, formerly of Phoenixville, PA, died Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2017 in Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Providence Township, PA. Born on November 5, 1913 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Hein) Winchester. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Phoenixville for many years. She was a volunteer at Phoenixville Hospital for over 10 years.

Mrs. Vaughan is survived by Daughter, Margaret J., wife of the late Alfred H. Garwood of Phoenixville, PA; Son, Daniel H., husband of Denise Vaughan of Oaks, PA; Eight Grandchildren; several Great-Grandchildren; Two Great-Great Grandchildren; and many Nieces and Nephews. Mrs. Vaughan was pre-deceased by her sons, Eric E.,husband of Veronica Vaughan, David E. Vaughan, and granddaughter, Adanna Vaughan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be family friend, Rev. Dennis E. Coleman. Burial will be held in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King Of Prussia, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:30 am Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phoenixville Area Community Service, 257 Church St, Phoenixville, PA 19460 or to the St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD, 57325.
