Mossie’s bid for a seat on the board started with a stunning victory in the Republican primary when she defeated current board chairman Robert Fieo. She then followed that up with Tuesday night’s victory and will join Philip A. Baker and John F. Pearson on the three-person board.

Fieo served on the board for two terms.

Mossie said Tuesday night she thinks her stance as a fiscal conservative caught on with voters and she “is someone who is going to listen to what the people want.”

Editor's note: Election results are unofficial until certified by the county.
