According to the latest U.S. Census Bureau report, nearly 40 million people in the United States are age 65 and older. By 2050, the number of Americans 65 and older will more than double to 88.5 million. Furthermore, according to the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, more than 43 million adult caregivers – 19 percent of the adult population – are providing care to an adult family member who is at least 50 years old.
