New Phoenixville Bike Station Installed On Schuylkill River Trail
The new bike repair station is now installed on the Schuylkill River Trail in Phoenixville.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Updating a story from last week, the new bike repair station is now installed on the Schuylkill River Trail in Phoenixville.
The station, located at the Mowere Road Trailhead on 198 Mowere Road, is one of seven new stations being added along the length of the trail. Other stations are either installed or planned in Spring City, Pottstown, Union Township, Birdsboro, East Falls, and Walnut Street in Philadelphia.
“This is a really exciting day for the trail,” Schuylkill River Greenways executive director Elaine Paul Schafer said during the ribbon cutting for the Walnut Street station. "Cyclists will now have the opportunity to fix minor bike repairs right alongside the Schuylkill River Trail."

Each station includes a bike rack, an air pump for tires, and a full set of tools for riders to make minor repairs.
For riders who like to travel any length of distance, the stations are a crucial piece of infrastructure, especially as more connections are made on the trail. As it stands, cyclists, hikers, and runners can travel from south Philadelphia to Limerick without leaving the trail.

Eventually, the trail will connect the city to the headwaters of the river, 120 miles away. A total of 75 miles of the trail is already completed.
The project, organized by the Schuylkill River Greenways, was funded by the Greenways, REI, and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Virtual Farm Creative produced the design of the stations.
