Victor Lozinak, 79

Victor G. Lozinak, born April 1, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, Dec. 12, with his loving wife Eileen (Hoff) by his side.

He is survived by his three sons, Robert of North Wales, John Patrick and his wife Valerie of Trooper, and Kevin and his wife Heather of Chicago. In addition to his wife and sons, he leaves behind two brothers, John and George, and four grandchildren, Will, 12, Austin, 10, Tori, 3, and Ryan, 8 months. 

Victor, son of the late Victor and Helen (Kerr) Lozinak of Havertown, PA, was a Class of 1950 graduate of West Catholic High School. He spent more than years working on the tug boats along the Delaware River. After leaving the boats, Victor retired as an Independent Claims Adjustor. Vic was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church and also the Maenner Chor Club inNorristown. 

A loving husband, appreciated father and just plain ol' Pop-Pop to his grandchildren, Wicky, as he was known in circles, had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. Whether it be a charity, a neighbor, a stranger or a family member, he would always take the time to help people. It's been said that it would be very difficult to find someone that knew Victor and was not helped by him in some way or another. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Victor's name to Penn Medicine Cancer Center at Phoenixville Hospital, 824 Main St., Suite 101, Phoenixville, PA 19460 and/or Seasons Hospice and Pallative Care, 700 S. Henderson Road, Suite 205, King of Prussia, PA 19406. 

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church, 1260 S. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

A viewing will be held in the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Peggy Keenan, 84

Peggy Ann (Lewis) Keenan, 84, wife of the late John S. Keenan Jr., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Roy N. and Carrie Moore (Miller) Lewis.  

A Phoenixville resident for her entire life, she was a graduate of Phoenixville High School Class of 1945 and Bloomsburg University. She began her teaching career as a high school business education teacher. Later she obtained her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and for 26 years she taught at East Pikeland Elementary School.  

Peggy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville. She served as a Church Deacon, on the MAC Committee and was one of the founders and volunteered for many years with the People To People Mission.

She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Schuylkill Chapter 338, O.E.S. Pottstown, Knights Templar Ladies Auxiliary, the Kimberton Fire Company Auxiliary and the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area. She was a lifelong volunteer and was recognized for her many years of community service with the Citizen Recognition Award, the Merit Award from the Chamber of Commerce and the Champion of the Community Award from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation. 

Peggy was very talented and enjoyed creating a wide variety of crafts. She had a great interest in antiques and collectibles and for many years she had her own antique business. She loved vacationing in North Wildwood with her family. 

She is survived by her son, John S., husband of Linda (Gray) Keenan of Phoenixville, her granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Keenan, of Somerville, MA, and several cousins, including her special cousin Alice Seidts of Pottstown. She will be very much missed by her family and her many friends. 

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, 145 Main St., Phoenixville, with the Rev. Dave C. McCabe officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private in the Morris Cemetery.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the People to People Mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville.

Mary Detwiler, 94

Mary (Windolph) Detwiler, 94, wife of the late George A. “Porgy” Detwiler, of Downingtown, formerly Phoenixville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at St. Martha’s Manor, Downingtown.

Born in Chester Springs, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Margery (Bible) Windolph. 

Mrs. Detwiler was a graduate of Phoenixville High School and attended Pottstown Business School. She was employed by the former Kimberton Company where she did monogramming.  

A member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, she was involved with the sewing circle and WIMODASI. She enjoyed cooking and canning, embroidery, crocheting and knitting, but most importantly she loved being with her family. 

Mrs. Detwiler is survived by two sons, George, husband of Kathy Detwiler of Kimberton and Charles, husband of Donna Detwiler, of Dover, DE; one daughter, Patricia, wife of Leonard Jones of Florida; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Windolph. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Ronald P. Wesemann will officiate. 

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to The Clinic, c/o Dr. Lorna Stuart, 143 Church St., Phoenixville, PA 19460.
