Ida Adams, 86

Ida Edith (DiGirolamo) Adams, 86, wife of the late Alfred T. Adams, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Mary (Rucci) DiGirolamo.

Ida and her husband were the original owners of the Haven Delicatessen and Catering in Phoenixville until 1974, the family business was then taken over by her son Robert and Barbara Smith, and is now called Bob's Haven Deli.

She was a member of St. Basil The Great Catholic Church in Kimberton, PA, and the Phoenixville Senior Center.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, bingo and spending time with her family.

Surviving are son Vincent Smith and daughter-in-law Sandy of Pottstown; daughter Peggy Ann, wife of the late Edward Soltys of Phoenixville; son Robert Smith and daughter-in-law Barbara of Phoenixville; daughter, Laura and son-in-law Mark Johnson of Parkesburg, PA; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Mars and brothers, Vincent DiGirolamo, Alphonso DiGirolamo and Ralph DiGirolamo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Kimberton, PA on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.

A viewing will be held on Saturday morning in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 517 S. Main St. at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, P.O. Box 637, Kimberton, PA 19442.

Betty Clemens, 85

Betty M. Clemens, 85, of Phoenixville and formerly of Royersford, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville.

She was the widow of Stanley Clemens. She was born in Royersford to the late Charles H. and Kathryn E. (Johnson) Miller.  

After graduating from Royersford High School she went work for the Royersford Water Company before becoming a homemaker and raising her son. In later years, she was employed at Wendy’s in Royersford. 

Betty was a member and sang in the choir at First United Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Senior Fellowship of Limerick and the Humane Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary. 

She is survived by her son, David M., husband of Kelly Clemens of Pottstown and sister, Kathryn Funk of Royersford.  

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dora Fitzcharles, and brothers, Milford and Robert Miller. 

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. (Fourth Avenue and Washington Street) Royersford.  

Calling time is at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Kate Davidheiser.  

Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First UCC at the above address.
