Victim ID'd After Fatal Wrong Way Crash In Chester County: Report

Breaking: The car was traveling in the wrong direction on the Route 30 bypass when it crashed head on into a tractor trailer, reports state.

One person is dead after an accident caused by a car going the wrong way down the Route 30 bypass in Chester County late on Tuesday night.

The incident was first reported just before midnight in the eastbound lanes of the Route 30 bypass between Route 322 and Route 113, according to Chester County Working Fires.

The car was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it crashed head on into a tractor trailer.

Philly.com reports that one victim was dead upon arrival.

The victim, the driver, has been identified as 23-year-old Keith Allen of Coatesville by 6ABC.

Minquas Fire Company and Thorndale Fire Company were among the crews to respond to the scene.

Authorities said that lane closures were in effect as they accident was cleaned up and the roadway repaired until around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
