One Dead After Uwchlan Crash, One Arrested For DUI

One person is dead and one has been arrested for DUI after a two-vehicle crash in Uwchlan.

UWCHLAN, PA — One person is dead and one has been arrested for driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash in Uwchlan.

The incident occurred on Friday, Nov. 17 at around 11:05 p.m. on Worthington Road near Caernarvon Drive, authorities said.

The cause of the crash, which remains under investigation, is not yet clear.

Police said that one vehicle had only a driver, while the other vehicle had a driver and two passengers, including a 10-year-old child. All three individuals in the second vehicle were hospitalized; one of them, a woman, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

The driver of the first vehicle was given a field sobriety test on the scene and was arrested for DUI. That driver was also hospitalized.

Police said that additional charges could be forthcoming.

Lionville Fire Company, Uwchlan Ambulance, Minquas Ambulance, Goshen Ambulance, East Whiteland Ambulance, West End Ambulance of Phoenixville and the Serious Crash Assistance Team joined Uwchlan Police on the scene.
