Outdoor Concerts in our area this week - Part Two

Okay, on to our next installment...

On Thursday, you will have two options for some outdoor music - The first is at the Miller Amphitheater in Kimberton Park where there will be a FREE performance from the band Just Add Water...

Known as JAW to their most-ardent fans, they are a popular local classic rock, blues, and pop group that regularly performs in the East Pikeland area as well as all around our region. Known for playing hits from artists like Tom Petty and Pink Floyd, they frequently gig at nearby venues like the Marchwood Tavern in Exton and Duffer's Tavern over in West Chester.

The food truck from Philly Hots will be there in support - lol.

Also on Thursday out at the Wyebrook Farm Summer Concert Series near Honeybrook (about 20 miles from us as the crow flies) will be Hezekiah Jones along with special guest Birdie Busch.

Hezekiah Jones is the indie-folk moniker for a collection of Philadelphia-area artists orbiting around the songwriting talents of Raphael Cutrufello. He is the band's primary singer, lyricist and all around handyman, has drawn on a wide palette of experiences, people and recordings from the past several years to put this all together.

Attendees can expect a little bit of everything musically at their shows & always seem to come away satisfied by the experience!

Birdie Busch has been steadily crafting a sprawling, genre-defying modern American songbook. Critics from American Songwriter to Paste Magazine have likened Birdie’s spirit to Syd Barrett and Eudora Welty, while acknowledging what she does as her own thing, with appreciation for the strange and beautiful place it resides.

Then on Friday, the Twilight Concert series that usually takes place in Bryn Mawr, will be moving over to the Ardmore Music Hall (due to the smokey skies) for another FREE show being billed at a Folk Fest Preview... They nice folks out there have been doing this preview of the Philadelphia Folk Festival for the past few summers now & it's a very cool way to showcase some of the talented peeps that will be out at the Old Poole Farm in Schwenksville about a month from now and create some additional awareness for that event - Don't worry, we'll be all over the PFF here in this space as mid-August gets closer! Set to perform on Friday are RUNA, the Tisburys, Sug Daniels, and Andrea Nardello.

Seeking to preserve and continue a traditional culture in a modern age, RUNA creates the backbone of its signature roots sound from the musical and geographical diversity of its individually established band members. Their strive for excellence and creativity blazes a trail for the future of folk music, earning them the reputation as one of the most innovative Irish folk groups of this generation.

Sug Daniels is a singer, songwriter, and producer who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, soul, and low-fi alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change.

Andrea Nardello’s fans describe her as relatable, passionate, soulful, and unapologetically real. A modern torch bearer for the powerful, independent female folk singer. Janis Ian meets Janis Joplin! Her refined accessibility draws from folk, rock & pop. She can tug at your heartstrings with her softer tunes and get you dancing on your feet with her upbeat songs and powerful voice.

The Philly-based rock band The Tisburys have been doing it the old-fashioned way for nearly a decade now – playing hundreds of shows, showing up at hundreds more, and putting in the effort to grow their scene and help make Philly music better. Going back to their early pre-pandemic EPs, each release in their discography has gotten a little better, a little sharper, and a little bigger. And with their 4th album, A Still Life Revisited, The Tisburys moved up a league, with lead singer Tyler Asay and the band penning their best batch of songs yet. Produced at Headroom Studios with their longtime engineer/producer Justin Nazario, it shows a band still rooted in their love of ‘90s radio rock and classic power pop sounds from The Replacements to The Gin Blossoms, Petty to Wilco. After appearances at XPoNential Music Festival in 2022 and a multitude of shows around the region (including a recent run to the Midwest supporting Neon Trees), The Tisburys were named WXPN Artist To Watch in June 2025 and they are currently working on their next album due out in 2027.

These talented guys regularly sell out much larger venues in our area so a chance to see them at Ardmore Music Hall on a Friday night - Especially when it's a FREE show - Is a wonderful treat that should not be overlooked!
