PASD receives $350,000 MultiModal grant from Pennsylvania

Bipartisan support from state elected officials helped secure the funding.

Phoenixville Area School District received a multimodal grant in the amount of $350,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to offset the tax burden associated with the construction of a new intersection at Route 29 and Pothouse Road, specifically the portion of Route 29 north of Pothouse Road.

The taxpayers of the Phoenixville Area School District had several powerful allies, with PA Senators Dinniman and Rafferty, and State Representatives Kampf and Corbin all working behind the scenes to secure this funding. Their bi-partisan efforts, along with those of the district were responsible for the successful outcome.

The main work on the intersection was completed in the summer of 2017, prior to the start of school in August of the 2017-2018 school year. The new intersection provides left turn lanes in all directions, and has been instrumental in improving traffic flow through Phoenixville.
