Pedestrian Struck On 422 Near Oaks Exit Wednesday

A helicopter landed on Route 422 to take away the victim, and the road was shut down for some time on Tuesday evening.

OAKS, PA — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Route 422 Tuesday evening before being transported to the hospital by a helicopter, according to authorities and reports from the scene.

The incident occurred sometime after 8 p.m. between the Route 29 and Egypt Road exits in the eastbound lanes.

The Facebook page 422 Sucks first reported that a pedestrian had been struck.

It's not yet clear what led to the incident. It resulted in at least one serious injury, leading a medevac chopper to land on Route 422.

The road was shut down in both directions for some time, leading to massive backups.
