The Philadelphia Fishing Show Hits Oaks Expo Center This Weekend

A 5,000 gallon aquarium, a fly fishing pond and lessons, more than 300 booths, and 75,000 square feet of tackle, boats, apparel, and more.

OAKS, PA — It's a big weekend for fishermen and outdoors oriented folk in the Montgomery County area.

The Philadelphia Fishing Show is slated for Feb. 21 through Feb. 23 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.

The show will feature more than 75,000 square feet of fresh and saltwater fishing tackle, various boats, kayaks, apparel, booths with information on destinations and guides, and much more.

This year's event will feature 70 more booths than ever before, bringing the total up to more than 300.

There are also additional free seminar rooms, fly fishing lessons and a fly casting pond, and number of expert speakers.

Some other special features include a 5,000 gallon aquarium with freshwater game fish, a 3,000 pound great white shark replica, and a "fighting chair challenge" where fishermen compete.

The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children aged 6 to 12, and free for children five and under. Parking is free.
