Philly Halal Food Festival Coming Up In Upper Providence
The popular event's organizers aim to showcase the global Halal cuisine and its kebabs and cheesesteaks to a wider, non-Muslim audience.
UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A major food festival is coming up in the greater Phoenixville area which aims to showcase the culinary diversity of Muslim culture to a primarily non-Muslim audience.
The second annual Philly Halal Food Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Khair Community Center, located at 1079 Egypt Road.
The event will feature more than 30 food, beverage, and dessert vendors.

The 2023 event had more than 3,000 attendees, and even more are expected in 2024.
Founders and local Noor, Najah, and Tabish, all self-described global travelers, and say they revel in introducing newcomers to a cuisine that's about so much more than just "chicken over rice."

"Philadelphia and it's surrounding counties, boasts a rich tapestry of Muslims from all corners of the globe, from the foundational presence of African American Muslims to immigrants hailing from diverse backgrounds all of whom have left indelible marks on the city's food landscape and economic foundation," the event description reads. "As stewards of this culinary heritage, Noor, Najah, and Tabish are leading the charge to honor the contributions of their community and propel the growth of the Halal food industry. "
The event will run from noon to 10 p.m. It will also feature a bazaar, community tables, a kids corner, and more.
