What business are you in?
"Manor of Hope is a state of the art drug and alcohol recovery community located in southeast Pennsylvania which offers long term treatment and continuing care for young men with substance abuse issues including opioids, (heroin, morphine, prescription painkillers), benzodiazepines, marijuana and alcohol addiction."
How did you come up with the name?
"The circa 1800 property where our residents reside lends itself to the name "Manor". "Hope" is the ideal that our young residents will realize long term recovery from addiction."
Why start a business in this town?
"Phoenixville is a vibrant, yet small community. Manor of Hope is located in an area with a winding river, trees and a good deal of privacy. The pastoral setting is ideal for healing. The area offers numerous outdoor activities; our young men spend weekends exploring the area and participating in activities including kayaking, biking, equine therapy, camping, fishing and the like. This area is rich with opportunity."
What is the most difficult challenge you face as a business owner?
"Educating the public about why our approach to recovery is unique."
What has been your proudest achievement since opening?
"Our first resident is now 60 days substance free. It is the first time he has achieved this milestone since his addiction began."
How does your business give back to the community?
"We are in the business of healing the minds, bodies and spirits of young men who have been lost to the disease of addiction. Our program offers these men the opportunity to become productive members of the community."
