What business are you in?

"We are in the business of making people happy with cake! We are in the business of making folks "bee"lievers in custom cakes from Sugar Buzz."

How did you come up with your name?

"We chose our name to answer the question everyone was asking, "Where did you get that yummy cake"? Since 90% of our business is referrals, we chose to answer the bigger question of "What's the buzz all about"?, with the sweet name of Sugar Buzz, because we really do choose to sugar coat everything.

Why start a business in this town?

"Sugar Buzz is a small company with a big following. We know there are folks in our area that want custom cakes that both look and taste great! We have and always will strive to be the best, the first or the only one creating the kind of treats we make for our neighbors near and far."

What's the most difficult challenge you have faced as an owner?

"Time management for a small business is always a consideration. Time spent baking is just a small part of the commitment. Marketing, administrative tasks and taking orders all take time. It's always great to have family and friends as cheerleaders, showing their support for our commitment to our clients."

What's been your proudest achievement since opening?

"We are extremely grateful and humbled that our proudest achievements are in the day to day art that has us receiving accolades from adults and children. We love the smiles and the hugs! We think it's really sweeeeeet to hear the 'wow.'"

How does your business give back to the community?

"Since the first day, with the first cake order, we have been happily sharing a percentage of our proceeds with organizations that are close to our hearts. The American Heart and Stroke Association, the Alzheimer's Association and military focused charities to name a few. We enjoy helping local non-profits also. We love to offer our time to school programs and clubs, sharing the hands on fun of cake decorating with children."
