Phoenixville Ballots Cast in Wrong Race, BOE Says

The mistake didn't affect the outcome of the election, Chester County said.

More than 100 Phoenixville voters in May cast their ballots in the wrong legislative race, the Chester County Board of Elections says.

In the May primary, 127 ballots were cast in the 157th District that should have been cast in the 155th, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Phoenixville created a new voting ward and mistakenly placed it in the 157th instead of the 155th, the Inquirer said.

Candidates in both districts were running unopposed, so the mistake did not affect the outcome of either election. However, it could have had an impact on the upcoming Election Day, the Inquirer said.

State Rep. Warren Kampf (R-157th) is running against Marian Moskowitz.
