Phoenixville Cancels First Friday

Phoenixville, PA -- Sad news for Phoenixville residents: First Friday has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.

According to Weather.com, scattered strong thunderstorms could begin as early as 4 p.m.

The Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement Friday afternoon:

"Due to the forecasted potentially severe thunderstorms and overall unsafe conditions between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm, the July 1, 2016 First Friday event has been officially canceled. No vendors will be permitted to set up on the unit block of Main Street between Bridge and Church Streets during the previously scheduled First Friday event hours. The street will be open to traffic. We hope you will join us next month on August 5."
