Phoenixville, Chester County Intermediate Join To Open Two New Preschools: Report
The unique partnership will give the district the opportunity to be more inclusive than ever, officials say.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Phoenixville Area School District is partnering with the Chester County Intermediate Unit to open two new preschool programs in the district, according to a report.
One will be in the Kindergarten Center and the other in Phoenixville High School, the Times Herald reports.
A grand opening celebration will be held on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kindergarten Center on 100 School Lane.

Officials are hopeful that the new program, which officially launched on January 19, will be a unique opportunity for inclusiveness in the district, the report states.
The partnership is reportedly several years in the making. CCIU recently obtained a $91,000 state grant, while the district provided the needed space and staff.

The ultimate goal is to be able to educate all students in the community without them needing to look elsewhere.
According to their website, CCIU’s major services include special education and compensatory education programs; career, technical and customized education; mentor training and staff development; technology initiatives; consortia for school business operations; and curriculum services.
