Phoenixville Community Health Foundation Graduates Executive Leader Class

The Phoenixville nonprofit recently graduated its 2016 executive leadership class, recognizing the area's emerging nonprofit sector leaders.

Phoenixville, PA --The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation’s Executive Leadership Institute has graduated its 2016 class of nine emerging leaders of the non-profit community.

The mission of the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) is to provide executive-level and management-level staff within the non-profit sector, an opportunity to gain self-awareness, knowledge, and experience to become more effective leaders within their professional and personal lives, according to a press release.

The yearly curriculum is approved by Arcadia University as a non-credit certificate program from the School of Continuing Studies in Non-Profit Leadership, the Foundation said.

This ten-month leadership program began with a personal self-assessment through the well-recognized Myers/Briggs psychological instrument. From there, each class had two sessions on aspects of leadership presented by individuals from the for-profit/non-profit, academic, and philanthropic sectors, according to the release.

The students’ final assignment was to present their own personal leadership plans and goals. At the end of the program, there was a two-level evaluation of both behavioral outcomes and the quality of instruction. This approach recognized that while both are critical, to be truly successful, enduring behavioral change is essential, the Foundation said.
