Phoenixville Gets $1.3 Million For Ashburn Road Extension

Phoenixville will receive $937,700 in funding from the state to improve a key intersection in township.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The governor's office announced on Friday that 45 transportation projects around the state had received funding, including several in Chester County and one in Phoenixville.

Phoenixville will receive $1.3 million for reconstruction and extension of Ashburn Road, from its terminus to Township Line Road, officials said.

“Our multimodal investments support important projects that help residents and local economies,” said Governor Wolf in a statement. “We are making possible improvements that will bring significant benefits to these communities.”

Projects in 22 counties around the state benefited from the funding, officials said. A total of $41.5 million has been invested.

Funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Multimodal Transportation Fund.

Projects were chosen based on safety benefits, along with the potential to increase job creation, energy efficiency, and overall sustainability, authorities said.
