Phoenixville Historical Society To Feature Railroads Author At Meeting

The upcoming meeting of the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area will have a special guest.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area will hold their quarterly meeting on Wednesday evening, March 16th at the Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust Conference Center located at 564 Nutt Road in Phoenixville.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm.

Light refreshments will be served.

The speaker will be Edward W. Duffy, who wrote the book Philadelphia, A Railroad History.

Duffy will give a presentation on the remarkable development of the railroad industry in Philadelphia. His interest in railroads dates from his role as a liaison between the City of Philadelphia and various rail organization agencies in the early 1970's that resulted in the creation of Conrail in 1976.
