Phoenixville HS Announces Virtual Graduation, 'Senior Week'
Phoenixville High School is working hard to honor graduating seniors, despite coronavirus making scheduled activities impossible.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville High School is working hard to honor graduating seniors, despite coronavirus making scheduled activities impossible.
The district has announced a schedule for a "senior week" in early June that will include various virtual events recognizing student achievements and milestones.
It will all be capped off with a virtual graduation on June 10. The exact layout for the virtual celebrations is not yet known.

The announcement comes the day after 22 school superintendents in Montgomery County, along with county officials, unanimously agreed to cancel all in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled for the late spring.
The decision, however, remains up to individual districts, and until recently, many districts had been publicly expressing their hopes that a late spring or early summer ceremony would be possible. Phoenixville had not made an announcement up to this point. Superintendent Alan Fegley noted in a newsletter to district families on April 15 that "I want to reassure you that

- Athletic highlights: June 1
- Art, music, and theatre showcase: June 2
- Senior slideshow: June 3
- Staff "send off" messages: June 3
- Impact awards: June 4
- Decision Day: June 5
- Senior awards ceremony: June 8
- Baccalaureate: June 9
- Virtual graduation: June 10
The district has also announced their valedictorian, Tyler Jenkins-Wong, and salutatorian, Ryan Aclan, for the class of 2020.
