Phoenixville HS Grad, World War II Vet Dies at 88

Andrew Mihalcik served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked for many years at Pennhurst Center in Spring City.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Andrew Mihalcik, age 88, of Royersford, PA, formerly of Phoenixville, PA died late Wednesday evening, December 21, 2016 in the home of his son. He was born on October 17, 1928 in Phoenixville, PA. He attended the Phoenixville High School. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Mihalcik formerly worked in the water treatment plant at the Pennhurst Center in Spring City and more recently at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Veterans Center in Spring City. He was a member of

Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford.

Mr. Mihalcik is survived by Son, Andrew M., husband of Kerry Mihalcik of Royersford, PA; Daughter, Debra M., wife of Edward Marberger of Downingtown, PA; Three Granddaughters, Elainie O. Demeter, Marina R. Demeter, Stevie N. Mihalcik.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Rev. Peter J. DiMaria . Burial will be held in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:30 am Wedneesday morning at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Southeastern Pennsylvania Veterans Center, 1 Veterans Drive, Spring City, PA 19475.
