Phoenixville HS Graduate, Board Member at Phoenixville Auxiliary Hospital, Dies at 85

Phoenixville's Marie Dvorak loved volunteering in her community, and would often look after and cook meals for her elderly neighbors.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Marie H. (Hritz) Dvorak, age 85, beloved wife of the late Albert A. Dvorak, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Sanatoga Court, Pottstown. Born in Phoenixville, PA, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Lesko) Hritz.

Mrs. Dvorak was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. She served on the Board of Directors of the Phoenixville Hospital Auxiliary and the Phoenixville Senior Center. She enjoyed working with children as a reading aide for the Phoenixville School District, and as a school crossing guard. Mrs. Dvorak was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Phoenixville, where she was a member of the choir and the Women's Guild. With her compassionate nature, she loved volunteering in her community, and would often look after and cook meals for her elderly neighbors. Family was most important to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family unconditionally. Sunday afternoon gatherings in her home is what she loved most.

Mrs. Dvorak is survived by her children, David Dvorak, Diane, wife of Terry Duncan, Edward, husband of Sandra Dvorak, Joanie, wife of Barry Reiter, Daniel, husband of Marlene Dvorak, and daughter-in-law, Ginny Dvorak; eight grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Ashley, Devin, Ryan, Nicole, Lauren, and Ellen; three great-grandchildren, Emma Jane, Eli Josef, and Ava Mae; and one sister, Patricia Giampietro.

Funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
