Phoenixville HS Swim Team Raises $2.5K To Fight Cancer
Excellent work from local student-athletes.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Phoenixville Area High School swim team gave back to the community in a big way recently, raising a significant donation to help fight back against cancer.
The team raised $2,597.65 for the patient assistance fund at Phoenixville Hospital's Cancer Center, the hospital announced.
The funds were raised by swimmers and divers at the Swim for the Cure Swim-a-Thon event in Dec. 2019.

Athletes swam as many laps as they could, while donors pledged a certain amount of money per lap.
The team shattered the goal of $1,500, the hospital said.
