Phoenixville Man Who Served In Battle Of The Bulge Passes At 94

Phoenixville's Richard P. Archer, 94, served his country during World War II and participated in the famed Battle of the Bulge.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Richard P. Archer, age 94, beloved husband of Eleanor Smith Fowler, of Phoenixville, PA, died Friday, September 15, 2017 in Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA Born on April 9, 1923 in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Paul and Stella (Barrett) Archer. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Army during World War II. He did serve at the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Archer is survived by Survived by children Nancy Poppoon (Stephen), Richard Jr. (Claudia), Peter (Maria), Barbara, grandchildren Julie Poppoon , Andrew Poppoon (Megin), Melissa Archer Alvare (Brett), Mary Archer, and great grandchildren Olivia and Margot Poppoon.
