Phoenixville Mayor Urscheler Named 'Outstanding Young American'

The Jaycees have honored Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler as one of their "10 Outstanding Young Americans."

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler has been recognized by the Jaycees as one of 10 Outstanding Young Americans for 2019.

Urscheler, who has also served as the Pennsylvania State President for the Jaycees for two terms, was selected from a group of 60 other nominees.

"His passion for both his Chapter and fellow Jaycees carries over to his own role as mayor of Phoenixville, where he works to make it the best community for those that call it home," the organization said of the borough's 35-year-old mayor.

The 10 winners who were selected were "truly oustanding in the areas of business, political achievement, humanitarian and voluntary leadership" and related fields. The individuals are all between the ages of 18 and 40.

Other winners included CEOs, authors, military leaders, and artists.

Urscheler and the winners will be reocgnized at a black tie awards ceremony in Corpus Christi, Texas in September.
