Phoenixville Mentioned In The Onion Article

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The borough is gaining regional fame for its revitalized downtown, shops, bars, restaurants, and historical setting. Now it's landed a mention in a national outlet of a slightly different.

The satirical news organization The Onion used a Phoenixville nursing home as the setting for one of its stories published Tuesday, "Senior Pretty Checked Out During Entire Final Year."

"Acknowledging that he is, after all, at a difficult age, sources at the Golden Living Center nursing home confirmed Monday that local senior Frank Gardner has been pretty checked out during his final year...At press time, a panicked Gardner had the sudden realization that he was not in fact ready to leave, but was forced to do so anyway."
