Phoenixville Names New Road, Elementary School, Early Learning Center: Report

Phoenixville has settled on names for structures and a road on its new school campus.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Phoenixville School District has officially named the new Early Learning Center and elementary school, both currently under construction.

According to the Times Herald,the school board has approved Manavon Elementary School, Phantom Way Access Road, and Phoenixville Area Early Learning Center as the names on the new campus.

The $71 million campus is set to open in the fall of 2017.

The district asked for the community's help to determine the names, and set up a form online for residents to contribute their ideas.

Other names considered for the Elementary School were Eisenhower, Meadow Brook, and Pennypacker, the report states.

The area that is presently called Phoenixville was called Manavon when it was settled in the 1600s.
