Phoenixville Native, Vietnam Vet, Dies At 70

A graduate of the Phoenixville High School class of 1963, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam with rank of Private First Class.

RICHARD CHARLES BONKOSKI, 70, OF PHOENIXVILLE Richard Charles Bonkoski, 70, of Phoenixville, died on January 30, 2016 at Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perry Point, MD where he was a resident the past few years. He was born in Phoenixville, PA on March 8, 1945 to the late Charles and Genevieve (Kamertz) Bonkoski. Richard was a graduate of Phoenixville Area High School class of 1963.

He was employed as a Meat Cutter for Roberts Meat Packing Co. in Kimberton, PA. He also held various other jobs, and lastly worked as a Courier for MEDLAB, Inc. Richard served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict with rank of Private First Class.

He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club in Phoenixville, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Richard is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Dell of Phoenixville; his nephew, Robert Dell Jr. of Phoenixville, and a niece, Charlene Culf of North Wales, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 3640 Schuylkill Rd., Spring City, PA. The Viewing will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery with military funeral honors.
