Phoenixville Police Chief Retires After 25 Years Of Service
Thank you for your 25 years of service, Chief Mossman.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Phoenixville's police chief is stepping down after 25 years of service with the department.
The Pottstown Mercury first reported that William Mossman, who has held the chief position for 10 years, will be stepping down.
Mossman's final day was Friday. He'll be taking over the police chief job in East Coventry Township on September 12, the report states.

Under Mossman's watchful eye, the borough has gone through a period of significant growth and revitalization.
“We focused on the open air drug dealing, we focused on the prostitution, we focused on the petty crimes, the assaults that happened downtown, the public drunkenness, the disorderly conduct. Those quality of life issues," he told the Mercury.

Mossman is an East Coventry resident and the new position will offer him a chance to be closer to his home, the report states.
