Phoenixville Remembers Thanksgiving Fire, 5 Years Later

Thursday was the five year anniversary of a brutal house fire in the area, and a reminder that even on Thanksgiving Day, firefighters are on the job.

The Phoenixville Fire Department assisted the Kimberton Fire Company on a call to a home on fire on Ravenhill Road in Charlestown Township.

Ladder & Engine 65 responded on the assignment.

The fire had rapidly spread from the kitchen to the attic of the single story ranch-style home, officials said.

Crews worked to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

The fire occurred at mid-day, leaving firefighters enough time to come home for a late afternoon return to turkey.
