We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Government will steal what I have worked hard for through eminent domain."
- "Drunk drivers and drug dealing"
- "The mentally ill"
- "Folks having to swerve around potholes on the roads and cyclists on tight, downtown streets.
- "We need overhead traffic lights at the intersections in town"
- "Traffic. A wide open, old, unused steel mill (25 years unused). A downtown district bypass would have been a good thought."
- "Trying to get out of my development during rush hour. Making a left from Dianna Drive (across from medical building) onto 29 when the cars are all backed up at the light and you can't see if anyone is coming. ..."
- "How about working walking lights at Gay St. & Bridge St. I've complained to the Boro many times but no one seems to do anything about it. People coming over the High Bridge turning right onto Bridge do not yield for pedestrians!"
- "Heroin"
