Phoenixville School Board's Lisa Longo Running For Chesco Office

Phoenixville School Board member Lisa Longo has announced her 2019 candidacy for Register of Wills in Chester County.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville School Board member Lisa Longo has announced her 2019 candidacy for Register of Wills/Clerk of the Orphans Court in Chester County.

Longo, a Democrat and former president of the school board, cited a desire to streamline the county's wills and probate system.

"I have seen firsthand the difficulties caused by the current guardianship process," she said in her campaign announcement. "We need to work with legislators, judges and attorneys to ensure guardianship is done more quickly and protections are in place to ensure we can provide the services needed for children and adults who require legal guardianship."

She said that Mike McGann, another Democrat who had been seeking the office, withdrew because he saw Longo as having a better chance at winning.

"Lisa is a force of nature — a leader with proven record of fighting for our kids as President of the Phoenixville Board of Education," McGann said in his endorsement.
