The historic barn dating to the Civil War era is reportedly threatened with demolition.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Phoenixville Area School District is reportedly attempting to save a historic barn on its property from being demolished.

The barn is located where the former Meadow Brook Golf Club and dates back to the Civil War, the Pottstown Mercury reports.

Officials described it as a "rich part" of local heritage, according to the report. The district purchased Meadow Brook in 2014 when they began planning stages for the new elementary school and the Early Learning Center.
