Phoenixville School District Teacher Is 'Heart Of Learning' Winner

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Phoenixville Area School District has selected their Citadel Heart of Learning Award winner from a group of dozens of nominations.

The award was developed by Citadel and the Chester County Intermediate Unit in 2001 to recognize, reward and thank the outstanding teachers in Chester County.

Mrs. Elizabeth Houseman, a second grade teacher at East Pikeland Elementary, was surprised with the award at an all-school assembly, the school district said.

The district added that Houseman's nomination letters had addressed her skills as an educator and work in building a child's confidence and self-esteem.
