What business are you in? Restaurant/Food Service

How did you come up with the name? "Purchased an existing business that was starting to go under. Was going to rename it until I learned some of the history behind it. Wanted to keep the concept alive and bring a taste of Philly to Phoenixville."

Why start a business in this town? "Great community. Expanding population. Grew up in a big city and wanted to be a part of something that felt more homely and intimate."

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? "Working 7 days a week since I started and trying to shoulder the business day to day operations as well as everything else that's involved in the operation of the business."

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening? "The response I get from old and new clients. Seeing them return happy and enjoying their time at Hog Island genuinely brings me happiness."

How does your business give back to the community? "I try to donate what I can, where I can. Weather it be to the local Schools, police department, fire company, local churches. I try to keep an open mind and help the local community as much as I can."
