When did you go into business?

"We opened on April 4th 2016."

How did you come up with the name?

"I was searching for a name that represented everything I wanted this business to be, and I started with Zen because of having a peaceful state of mind. It is everything to be clear and functional. Then I thought of Village because it is what it takes to have a healthy lifestyle change. Your community of support is everything. Wellness is for the base of our services and products. So there you have it: ZenVillage Wellness."

Why start a business here?

"I picked Phoenixville for the location of my business because I have been working in this community for eight years seeing patients in a Chiropractor’s office. While serving my patients, I listened to what their needs were, and shared my knowledge and passion for whole body wellness along with preventative healthcare. It is my joy to assist in helping people become the best version of themselves. As a result, I have built trust and consistent work with the Phoenixville community. ZenVillage Wellness is where I can continue to serve them while helping in even more ways than before."

What business are you in?

"ZenVillage Wellness is a one-stop shop for preventative healthcare. We offer massage therapy specializing in joint and back pain, and stress reduction. We also have an in-house naturopathic practitioner who addresses weight gain, poor energy, lack of sleep, stress and tension reduction, back, bone and joint pain. I’m also excited that we have the ability to provide in-house biofeedback testing with the frequencies in your body and acupuncture, which helps with clearing your chi (energy) in your body.

There is also infant massage instruction that teaches parents bonding, relief relaxation techniques for their infant. We offer natural birthing classes that focuses on the organic way of giving birth naturally. The birthing classes is done in three parts: setting your birth plan, nutrition & health, and preparing & after birth.

To also help clients become a better version of themselves, we offer nutritional coaching. This provides a guided lifestyle change, help with weight loss, helps client implement healthier eating habits, and mental preparation. We also offer bulk herbs, and a variety of wellness and nutrition classes are available.

One thing I am proud of is that our practitioners are all passionate about their area of expertise and love to educate our community on how the become the best version of themselves."

What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

"One of my most challenging obstacles with opening ZenVillage Wellness is maintaining a balance at home because I’m a single mother. Also dealing with the unknowns of a start up business can sometimes be a challenge, but the reward of helping others and seeing clients come back time and time again because they see the benefits of a healthier lifestyle makes it all worth it."

What's been your favorite moment/proudest achievement since opening?

"The greatest and most rewarding experience throughout this process has been the support of all the local businesses and communities. I really appreciate everyone who has supported me."

How does your business give back/get involved in the community?

"ZenVillage is committed to serving the community by offering complimentary nutrition events and educational classes. We want to insure that everyone who is interested in living a healthier lifestyle has the information and tools to do so. One of our first regular events will be a Children’s Nutritional Night on Tuesdays in partnership with other local businesses. This event will provide a free plant-based dinner for children, education on what they are eating, snacks and some fun healthy drinks."
