Phoenixville's Route 23 Bridge To Open Tuesday

Could Tuesday mark the end to at least some of the woeful traffic in the Phoenixville area?

For months, Phoenixville residents have been hearing constantly revised and updated schedules on the Route 23 bridge closure.

Finally, it all seems to be coming to an end.

The bridge over Pickering Creek will officially reopen to traffic at some point on Tuesday, according to the Phoenixville Area School District.

PASD has been informed the Route 23 Bridge at the Pickering Creek dam will be open to traffic sometime Tuesday, October 6th.

New bus routes for many families will go into effect on Wednesday, October 7th. Postcards have been mailed to all households who will be affected by these changes.

Replacement of the 48-year-old bridge over Pickering Creek, which lawmakers say is traveled by nearly 20,000 vehicles a day, began on April 20.

Will the new bridge radically change Phoenixville’s traffic situation? Or will it only be a minor dent? Let us know in the comments below or email justin.heinze@patch.com
