Pothouse Rd Shut Down As Drunk Driver Destroys Utility Pole: Cops

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP, PA — A suspected drunk driver crashed into a utility pole overnight on Pothouse Road, leading to the road being shut down early Monday.

The incident occurred overnight between Harvest Lane and West Evergreen Drive.

The crash snapped the utility pole in half and left the vehicle wrecked. It's not yet clear if there were any injuries.

PECO crews responded to the scene and are working to remove the wrecked vehicle and repair the power lines.

"Significant" delays were expected early Monday for motorists in the area.

Detour signs were put up, directing traffic to Township Line Road, West Bridge Street to Nutt Road, and Charlestown Road to Coldstream Road.
