Public Meeting Set To Discuss Phoenixville Transportation Plan
What should the future walking, biking, and public transportation look like in the Phoenixville area?

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A public meeting will be held this month for the proposed Phoenixville Region Transportation Plan.
The plan aims to address current difficulties residents in the region face in walking, biking, and using public transportation to get around.
It highlights areas of danger for bikers and walkers, including sites of accidents, as well as areas that are traditionally especially congested.

“This project addresses the limitations of the current conditions for walking, biking, and transit use and focuses on ways to handle key challenges, including gaps in the network, lack of connections between urban and suburban centers, and lack of access to public transportation,” Brian O’Leary, executive director of the Planning Commission, said in a statement. “The draft plan identifies potential capital improvements and programming initiatives to increase the safety and efficiency of the transportation network regardless of age, ability, or mode of travel.”
The region in question includes issues and potential resolutions in Phoenixville, Charlestown, East Pikeland, Schuylkill, Upper Providence, and West Vincent.
